Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Mrs. Maples’ Art 2 class have been enjoying their Glow Art unit. They are exploring different mediums that glow under black light. The excitement and joy when they enter the room and work with art supplies that glow is priceless. A special thank you to Paul and Betty Steele for providing the funds for this fun and memorable art experience.
Fosters Heating and Cooling, our Partner in Education with Mrs. Daugherty’s 2nd grade class, visited today to deliver fun games and fantastic prizes for the kids, along with a thoughtful card and gift card to support the classroom. We are so grateful for the continued community support here at CES!
CES Red Ribbon Week October 28-31
A huge thank you to our PTO, the China Garden Restaurant/BC Chen Family for donating and catering a delicious meal for our teachers and staff during our Thursday evening conferences, and to Los Portrillos Restaurant for their generous monetary donation. Our amazing PTO Sunshine Squad hospitality committee of parent volunteers, organized the meal prep, drinks, desserts, and food donations. Parents and students served and even delivered meals to classrooms for teachers to enjoy between conferences. This support culminated a great conference week with an incredible gesture and a wonderful treat for our CES/CELC family!
A big shout-out to our CES parents for attending parent-teacher conferences this week and partnering with us to ensure the best education for our students! Your involvement makes a difference every day.

“Let Your Kind Shine”
Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES!
Nevaeh Anderson (Mrs. Bonderer’s 1st Grade)
Nevaeh is very empathetic and encourages classmates when they are feeling down. She offered to walk with a sad friend to breakfast and told her everything was going to be okay. She gave a big hug to another friend who had lost a family member over the weekend.
Jake Romesburg (Ms. Myers’ 2nd Grade)
Jake is a great friend to everyone in and outside of our classroom. He is quick to help out when needed. Jake also shows responsibility and is a hard working student. Thank you, Jake, for doing your best even when you may not want to!
Tennyson Bevelle (Mrs. Montgomery & Mrs. Taylor’s 5th Grade)
Tennyson often helps other students get to where they need to be, helps them gather supplies, lets others have turns in class and uses kind words with others. He brings a light to others!
