CHI....LLI! ❤️ Our Chilli MO PTO brought Hornet pride to campus today by opening the Hornet Hive Spirit Shop! Students had the chance to choose from a variety of Hornet gear and accessories, including keychains and bookmarks, thoughtfully crafted by the GRTS marketing class. We extend our heartfelt thanks to PTO members Mrs. Shannon Mason and Mrs. Molly Owens for facilitating this memorable experience. It's a great day to be a HORNET ❤️

This week we celebrated World Kindness! “Let Your Kind Shine” Kindness is everywhere at CES! The three recipients of this week's awards were nominated by a teacher or staff member for showing exceptional kindness. They received a sunshine bag and the opportunity to sit in the yellow sunshine chair over the next week to promote kindness throughout CES! Everley Wheeler (Miss Teeter’s Kindergarten) Everley consistently lets her kindness shine in everything she does. Whether it's offering to help classmates, cheering up a sad friend, or simply sharing a smile, she spreads a positive attitude throughout our school. She is always willing to include others and offer encouragement. Her kind actions inspire others to do the same. Gracelynn Ball (Mrs. Schneider’s 3rd Grade) Gracelynn shines EVERY day she steps foot in CES. She is a very hard worker, even when it's tough. She is on task and a great leader in our classroom! She is helpful and caring to everyone! Her kind smile can brighten the worst day! Keep shining, sweet girl! Ledger Narr (Mrs. Dodson’s 4th Grade) Ledger is always going out of his way to lend a hand, or to make someone else feel better. He is there for all of his friends, but also for people he may not even know. He is a kind student through and through!

Writing Consultant This month, Literacy Coach Christie Jackson from NWRPDC visited CES to model writing lessons in our host classrooms. Teachers from all grade levels had the opportunity to observe Christie as she presented lessons designed to align with each grade’s upcoming writing standards. Following each demonstration, Christie met with teachers to discuss effective strategies and tips for enriching writing instruction at CES. Mrs. Jackson was genuinely impressed by the quality of writing she observed throughout our school, sharing that she was excited to return to CES because of our welcoming staff and students who are eager to write. Christie will continue supporting our writing instruction with four more visits throughout the 2024-25 school year, helping to further strengthen and inspire our students' writing journey.
