I trust this message finds you in good health. As the Superintendent of the Chillicothe R-II School District, I am excited to share some updates about the newly expanded Chillicothe Elementary School (CES).
The expansion project is progressing well, and we anticipate that any remaining punch list items will be addressed during the first two months of the school year. Despite these minor adjustments, I am delighted to confirm that school will begin on time at CES.
We are hosting an open house on Tuesday, August 20. We strongly encourage all parents to attend this event. However, it's important to note that one-on-one meetings with teachers will be by appointment only. Please ensure you have pre-scheduled your appointment to secure a slot. The information regarding sign-up was included in the teacher letters mailed early this week. If you have not received your letter yet, please contact the elementary office at 660-240-3315, to sign up for a time slot. In addition to these meetings, we have organized a variety of activities to help your child transition smoothly into the new school year at CES.
The first regular school day will be on Wednesday, August 21. For parents who will be dropping off and picking up their children at CES, please adhere to the instructions provided by our volunteers or refer to the instructional video to understand the pick-up/drop-off driving pattern. We are incredibly eager to welcome your students to school in this new state-of-the-art facility. I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors, volunteers, and voters of the district for their unwavering support for this project.
