Ms. Abbey Hoerr is one of our awesome substitute teachers here at Chillicothe R-II Schools! She subs in all of our Chillicothe R-II Schools, but finds herself in Dewey, the Middle School, and the Grand River Technical School the most due to her availability.
Abbey is a Hale High School graduate and is currently living in Chillicothe. She has an Associate of Arts in Teaching degree, along with a business and accounting certificate from North Central Missouri College. She is currently finishing up her Bachelor's degree in Science while majoring in Secondary Education (mathematics) as an online student through Central Methodist University.
We asked her what she would say to anyone thinking about working as a substitute teacher within Chillicothe R-II Schools and she said, “You will have hard days, but the feeling you get when the kiddos see you again makes you feel so loved. It is a truly rewarding job!"
Anyone interested in working as a substitute teacher here at Chillicothe R-II Schools may qualify for a Substitute Certificate in three ways: Completion of a minimum of 36 semester hours of credit from a regionally accredited, academic degree-granting, college or university.
