Greetings from the teachers and staff at Field Elementary, where Hornets lead the way! I hope you are enjoying your last couple of weeks of summer vacation and that you are getting excited about the 2019-20 school year. The teachers and staff are getting their learning environments prepared for the first day of school, Monday, August 19th. They are a dedicated group of people who have put in several hours assembling their classrooms and we would love to see you at Field Open House on Wednesday, August 14th, 4-6pm. This is a great time to meet the teacher and drop off school supplies. You can find supply lists at the local retailers or visit the district website, www.chillicotheschools.org. You can also sign up to receive important text on the district website by clicking on “Hornet Alert.” Please also do not forget to download the new school district’s app, both are great ways to stay connected and informed.
A quick “shout out” to the Field custodians, Rick and Kerrie, plus the R-II maintenance staff for working hard at cleaning, waxing, fixing and giving our building that “new shine” for the upcoming school year. Also a big thank you to Marty for all the painting and cleaning he’s done this summer to give Field a little “face lift” in our hallways. The new color looks great!
Welcome to Field School - Mandy Gaston, Title Reading Teacher, she is not new to R-II, but new to Field. She lives in the Chillicothe area and has been at Dewey the last eight years. We are excited to have her join the Field Staff.
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. I am Jennie Boon, building principal. I have worked the past 16 years as a principal and this is my second year at Field. My husband is Clint, we two have sons, Marshall (9) and Maxwell (7). I’m eager to meet the new 2nd Grade Field Families and looking forward to seeing our 3rd graders.
