Bus Driver

Now that the 2022-23 school year is underway, fall sports are in full swing and the students are in the buildings learning and growing. However, the current labor shortage facing the country has hit home: The Chillicothe R-II School District’s administration is struggling to fill the multiple vacancies among the ranks of its support staff.

"The problem we’re facing is that we have many vacancies and not many applicants interested in filling them," Dr. Dan Wiebers, R-II Superintendent said.

He noted that the District's awesome, existing support staff members are working very hard to make this school year a great one for the students and staff. However, the District's kitchens are operating with less than desirable numbers of staff, bus routes are being combined, extra-curricular activities are being delayed (or potentially canceled due to lack of transportation), and current custodial staff are struggling to spend the time necessary to properly prepare the buildings for students. Substitute teachers are also in short supply, which makes finding a replacement for a teacher who may be ill, or who is home with a sick child, very difficult.

Those interested in joining the Chillicothe R-II Support Staff team or who want to be placed on the substitute teacher list, are encouraged to click on the following link - R-II Application - or apply through the District's online application system at www.chillicotheschools.org. Persons needing assistance with the technology-based application system are invited to stop by the Administrative Offices at 2807 Hornet Road, for support. The Chillicothe R-II School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer and the Board of Education offers competitive salaries and benefits for these positions.
