For the second time this school year, the Chillicothe Education Foundation’s “prize patrol” surprised several Chillicothe R-II staff members this (Wednesday) morning with the happy news that they had been awarded mini-grants up to $500.
Winners of the winter mini grants were:
Mr. Doug French, CMS (6th-8th Grade): “Integrating Technology and 3D Printing at CMS,” - $474.05;
Mrs. Sophie Chambers, Mrs. Heather Davis, Mrs. Anglie Gott, Mrs. Julienne Graupman, Mrs. Carly Hibner, Mrs. Kate Jones and Mrs. Amy Taylor (5th Grade Teachers): “One World, Many Stories (Continued),” - $335.36. (Funds for this Mini Grant were graciously donated from the Patty Palmer Memorial);
Mrs. Nancy Burtch, Grand River Technical School (11th Grade -Post High): “Math in Motion,” - $500.45;
Mrs. Kari Snyder, Chillicothe Elementary School (1st Grade): “‘Smart’ Pens for Digital Writing,” - $420;
Mrs. Melanie Rucker, Dewey Elementary School: “Dewey Impact: YouthConnecting With Their Community,” - $494.75;
Mrs. Kim Griffin, Chillicothe Early Learning Center (Pre-K): “Bringing Life to the Light and Sensory Table,” - $489.66;
Mrs. Shelby Ward, Chillicothe Elementary School (1st Grade): “STEM Bins for Critical Thinkers,” - $494.24;
In total, the Chillicothe Education Foundation Mini-Grants, which included $335.36 in funds donated through the Patty Palmer Memorial, amounted to $3,208.51.
After the mini grants were awarded, Mr. Dan Wiebers, Superintendent of Chillicothe R-II Schools, offered his appreciation to the Chillicothe Educational Foundation for their continued support of R-II staff and students.
“Because of the Chillicothe Education Foundation’s continued support, this District is able to offer its students amazing activities and programs which help make Chillicothe R-II Schools a great place to learn for students of all ages,” Mr. Wiebers said.
